Baroque Music Recital | Recital de Música Barroca

Recital in honor of G.F. Handel, who died 250 years ago. In the program, one of his sonatas for flute, and works of Giuseppe Sammartini and Pietro Castrucci. The works of Bach and Marais, virtuosi of the keyboards and viola da Gamba, represent the best compositions for these instruments in the Baroque period. Isabel Favilla, flutist, is Master in music by the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She plays regularly in Brazil, Europe and South America, and recorded a CD with Collegium Musicum Den Haag and Il Complesso Barocco. Currently, specializes in historical bassoon at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Raquel Chiarelli, viola da gamba, studied with Cecilia Aprigliano, Ricardo Rodriguez and Jonathan Dunford. She’s part of the groups Affectus, sonare and Terpsichore. She has played in Early Music festivals in Europe and South America. Ana Cecília Tavares is master in harpsichord by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She specialized in Paris with Huguette Dreyffus. In France, she played in several cities. She won the VIth Eldorado Award for Music and recorded a solo album through Eldorado Label. She recorded with Estúdio Barroco, Trio Barroco de Brasília and the CD Bach/Froberger. She’s harpsichord teacher at the School of Music of Brasilia.

Isabel Favilla, flautista, é Mestre em música pelo Conservatório Real de Bruxelas. Apresenta-se regularmente no Brasil, na Europa e América do Sul. Gravou CD com o Collegium Musicum Den Haag e Il Complesso Barocco. Atualmente, especializa-se em fagotes históricos no Conservatório Real de Haia. Raquel Chiarelli, viola da gamba, estudou com Cecília Aprigliano, Ricardo Rodríguez e Jonathan Dunford. Integra os conjuntos Affectus, Sonare e Terpsichore. Apresentou-se em festivais de música antiga na Europa e América do Sul. Ana Cecília Tavares é mestre em cravo pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Especializou-se em Paris com Huguette Dreyffus. Na França, apresentou-se em diversas cidades. Venceu o VI Prêmio Eldorado de Música e gravou disco solo pelo selo Eldorado. Gravou com o Estúdio Barroco, Trio Barroco de Brasília e o CD Bach/Froberger. É professora de cravo na Escola de Música de Brasília.

School of Music of Brasília | Escola de Música de Brasília

In the country where I was born, I never had any opportunity to study the lute, so until I came to Brazil, I used to consider it an exotic instrument. Learning to play it never passed through my mind. But life had other plans for me and I discovered that in Brasilia, the city where I'm living, there was a superb school that had a section of Early Music and the most known teacher of lute in Brazil, Professor Fernando Dell'Isola. In 2007, I spoke twice with the professor about the possibility of becoming his student and felt great empathy with him. In a few months I passed the tests and entered in the lute class.

At the School of Music of Brasilia I had the opportunity to study for free, and with exceptional teachers. I attended and sang in the choir, which I used to call "my mental yoga", which gave me great joy. I started to attend Early Music recitals, and in six months I started to participate in a group of Early Music as second lutenist, with professor Dell'Isola and other students. This has been an extraordinary experience that brought me childhood happiness, but also lasting links of friendship with new and good friends.

No país onde nasci, jamais teria oportunidade de estudar alaúde, por isso até à minha vinda para o Brasil considerava-o um instrumento exótico, nem sequer me passava pela cabeça aprender. Mas a vida tinha outros planos para mim e descobri que em Brasília, a cidade onde vim morar, havia uma soberba escola que tinha núcleo de música antiga e o professor de alaúde mais renomado do Brasil, o professor Fernando Dell’Isola. Em 2007 conversei duas vezes com o professor sobre a possibilidade de ser seu aluno e senti grande empatia. Em alguns meses fiz as provas da escola e entrei na classe de alaúde.

Na Escola de Música de Brasília tive a oportunidade de estudar gratuitamente, ao contrário da minha Europa nativa, e com professores excepcionais. Participei e cantei no Coro, o que meu deu um gozo enorme, a que chamei uma espécie de yoga mental. Passei a assistir regularmente a recitais de música antiga, e em seis meses comecei a participar eu próprio de um grupo de música antiga como segundo alaúdista com o professor Dell’Isola e outros alunos. Essa tem sido uma experiência extraordinária, que me trouxe felicidade de infância, mas também laços duradouros de camaradagem com novos e bons amigos.
